Known as the ‘queen of spices’ the Vanilla planifolia is a variety of the vanilla orchid. Our Prime Madagascar species contains a high content of precious vanillin. Around the world the Vanilla planifolia is now considered an endangered species. To grow the Vanilla planifolia fruit (commonly called bean) the pollination has currently to be performed by hand as the mature blossoms last only a day and self-pollinating is, due to climate variations, reduced to minimum results. After harvesting the fruits (pods/beans) are cured and fermented to preserve the essential oils and extract.
Since 1975 SpiceStation carries many Gourmet Prime Spices and Seasonings. We are offering some of these Spice Station selections on our www.TeaFountain.com website. For decades appreciated in the professional culinary world.
