Black Tea

Quality loose leaf black tea production starts with fresh tea leaves which are picked from the Camellia sinensis plant and flushed out on screens to wither and dry. Fermentation and oxidation takes place by adding oxygen, heat and moisture to the leaves. A change in the chemistry creates more tannin and theine in the leaves and results in the dark color and distinctive mild to malty flavor. All loose leaf black teas handled, brokered and offered by TeaFountain and TeaStation are naturally grown and fairly traded. Theine (caffeine) content: Medium to High.

TeaFountain/TeaStation loose-leaf Black Teas are packaged in our custom-designed, decorative and sealed food-grade round ‘Silver Glow’ Metal Tins displaying our award-winning art labels.
